Embryolisse Moisturizer Review by a Makeup Artist

When it’s your job to make people look their best, it’s super important to use makeup and skincare products that are gentle on the skin and don’t cause any allergic reactions. That’s why my makeup instructor suggested adding Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentré to my makeup kit.

You can get the Embryolisse Moisturizer in different sizes.

My former instructor, who is a seasoned makeup artist, does the makeup for a famous Dutch artist and highly recommends this versatile cult product as a must-have for any makeup job.

You can buy Embryolisse at the following webshops:

Should you consider buying Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré?

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré has been getting some great reviews on Beautypedia, especially from those with sensitive skin or skin conditions. Personally, I’ve had a great experience with this product too. That’s one of the reasons why I always keep a tube in my makeup kit.

I find that it absorbs quickly into the skin and I haven’t come across anyone having an allergic reaction to it, which is a plus. However, since everyone’s skin is unique, it’s always a good idea to look at the ingredients.

So, without further delay, let’s have a look at the pros and cons I’ve experienced in using the Lait-Crème Concentré on different people.

embryolisse lait-creme concentre review
Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré is a versatile moisturizer that you can use for different purposes.

Pros

  1. It works well for both dry and oily skin types,
  2. Easy to apply and it goes on smoothly.
  3. Provides a satin-smooth finish and despite its richness it absorbs into the skin quickly.
  4. You can apply your make-up immediately after.
  5. Versatile skincare product
  6. A great moisturizer, especially during the cold winter months.
  7. Also perfect for dry patches on your body.

Some rich creams can feel sticky to the touch, making it hard to apply smoothly. This isn’t the case with this creamy lotion. It goes on smoothly.

To get the best results, it’s best to massage the Lait Creme Concentre into your skin. This can help the product absorb faster and work more effectively.

One of the things I love about this Embryolisse product is how fast it absorbs into the skin. You don’t have to wait around for ages to be able to apply your makeup.

You can pretty much do it right after applying it. This is a big plus for makeup artists, especially when working on a busy set where time is precious.

Embryolisse Lait Creme Sensitive
There are a variety of available products to choose from, such as the classic moisturizer and the gentle Embryolisse Lait-Crème Sensitive.

Cons

In addition to all the rave reviews, I also came across a few downsides. Here are some I noticed:

  1. May feel too rich or oily for some people, especially when using it daily.
  2. While this product has a very mild scent, it does contain fragrance as an ingredient. If you have allergies to fragrance or have very sensitive skin, such as rosacea, your skin may not react well to it. Instead, consider using Embryolisse Lait-Creme Sensitive.
  3. Fairly expensive for the basic ingredients.
  4. Might not be the best match when you have mature skin. Consider other options like Embryolisse Embryoderme.

Why use Lait-Creme Concentre?

Despite the cons, let me share some reasons why you might want to give this rich moisturizing lotion a try. First off, it’s completely free of parabens, making it even suitable for sensitive skin types.

The iconic Lait-Creme Concentre was actually created by a French clinical dermatologist who specialized in skin disorders and diseases. Originally you could only find it in French pharmacies, but now you can get your hands on it without having to hop on a plane to France.

The Lait-Creme Concentre moisturizer is so versatile. It’s not just a day cream, you can use it for all sorts of things.

Make-up artists love using it as a hydrating makeup primer or remover. I always keep a tube in my makeup kit, thanks to my awesome former makeup instructor.

Believe me, when I say, there are countless reasons why this versatile product is a cult favorite, and you might just want to add it to your skincare routine too. Here are just a few reasons to love it:

Reason 1: multi-tasker

The great thing about this iconic cream is how versatile it is. You can use it in so many different ways such as:

  1. a makeup base,
  2. a face cream,
  3. a makeup remover,
  4. a 10-minute moisturizing mask,
  5. after-shave cream,
  6. or even baby cream.

I’ve noticed that it absorbs quickly into the skin and has a very subtle scent.

Reason 2: gentle on the skin

The ingredients are simple, yet effective, which is great because they are gentle on the skin and help to keep it hydrated without causing any irritation. However, it’s always a good idea to check the packaging for any ingredient updates before making a purchase.

Currently, the main ingredients of Embryolisse’s Lait-Crème Concentré are water, mineral oil, shea butter, beeswax, soy protein and aloe vera. Additionally, it contains Symdiol 68T as a preservative, which is free from parabens. Below you’ll find the complete ingredients list.

While mineral oil may sound intimidating and is also known as petroleum jelly or vaseline, it’s actually considered safe for your skin based on input from dermatologists and medical studies. It’s great for soothing and moisturizing the skin, and can even assist in healing minor cuts and scrapes.

Additionally, mineral oil has been shown to enhance skin softness and strengthen your skin barrier. Studies indicate that it performs better than other moisturizers in tests measuring water vapor transmission and has been proven to reduce water loss from the skin in real-life studies.

Reason 3: for every skin’s needs

If you’ve made it this far in my review, you might be wondering what type of skin Lait-Creme Concentre is suitable for. Here’s some good news, Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre is non-comedogène skin care, so it won’t clog any pores.

It’s a cruelty-free  6-in-1 multitasker specifically made for dehydrated skin and comes in a metal squeeze tube. You can confidently use this cruelty-free cream if you have:

  • oily skin
  • or combination skin.
  • It’s also well-suited for dry skin types.

And if you have very sensitive skin and need great skin hydration, I recommend trying out Embryolisse Lait-Creme Sensitive. It’s specially formulated for extra-sensitive and reactive skin.

I’ve tested out a variety of moisturizers on my clients as a makeup artist, but none have impressed me quite like Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre. Its light yet nourishing formula leaves the skin feeling so hydrated, which is just perfect for a flawless makeup application.

As a makeup artist, I have tried different moisturizers on my clients, but none have impressed me as much as Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre. Its lightweight yet nourishing formula leaves skin feeling hydrated, making it the perfect canvas for makeup application.

I’ve also noticed how well my clients’ makeup holds up throughout the day when using this iconic cream as a base. Overall, I highly recommend Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre to anyone looking for a versatile, effective moisturizer. It truly lives up to its cult-favorite status in the beauty world.
