Have you ever looked at your hair or a part of your body and felt insecure or less than? Me too. As a curly-haired, beauty and lifestyle blogger with curves and freckles, a lot had to be learned, unlearned, and re-learned about my identity and self image.
My inspiration to start blogging came from my own struggle to find information about hair, makeup and beauty products, especially curly hair products.
I felt insecure about my hair and my appearance for years, because I thought my curly hair was difficult and ugly. After careful research and finding many products which did not work for me, I decided to start my own blog and share the knowledge I learned with others.
Basically my blog is something that evolved from a need to find validation and a purpose. It started out as a hobby that grew into something that people read and talk about.
About Angela
My name’s Angela and I’m a 40+ former teacher, auditor and licensed make-up artist. Currently, blogger and content marketer. Of all my accolades, I am quite proud to be a mother to a 20+ year-old daughter.
You probably wouldn’t have guessed it, but both of my parents are from Suriname, South America. I was born and raised in the Netherlands, Europe where I currently reside.
About Lifestyle Beauty Blog
Luckily, I no longer fear my appearance, as I am confident of who I am. My appearance doesn’t define me, but I do believe it’s an important aspect of life.
So, now I am on a mission to create a platform where women like me, who are in the prime of their lives, can find recognition and inspiration when it comes to:

Why? Well, when I was younger I wish there had been someone back then who could’ve helped me and would’ve told me:
“You are beautiful and your hair is beautiful the way it is. I want to help you embrace your natural curls so you can learn to understand what your hair needs. Let me show you how to take good care of your hair so it looks beautiful.”
Instead I learned how to straighten my hair like pro with the use of a straightening iron, blow dryer and hair rollers. For 19 years, I straightened my hair with a chemical relaxer. The result: I got bald spots and my hair broke off.

After having achieved a successful Dutch blog that gets over 200,000 page views in a month, I started Lifestyle Beauty Blog in March 2022 because English-speaking friends and relatives who live in the United States and the Caribbean, complained because they couldn’t read my Dutch blog.
So, I decided to create this English blog for everyone to enjoy and to help you achieve your beauty goals, no matter where you are in the world.
